December 24th Update

Hi everyone.

First, if case you haven’t noticed it, Jennifer is now available as a free game. You can find her in the games section.

Second, I’ve been doing the advent calendar for a few years now, but haven’t posted up the old images anywhere. So, as an extra Christmas present, here are all the previous images in one big zip file for those who are newer to the site, or those who didn’t save them in previous years : www.vdategames.com/files/advents.zip

Finally, Merry Christmas, and I’ll see you all next week.

December 11th Update

Today I’m very pleased to announce that “Tara Part Three: The Assignment” is finished and ready for release. Overall I’m really happy with how it has turned out. It’s been lots of work, and exceeded my initial plans in terms of game size and complexity.

There are a total of 1291 images in the game plus a few other associated images taking the total over 1300. I should also mention that 286 of them are high quality animated gifs. Most of these are in the extensive sex scenes. There are seven main endings to find, and plenty of the usual options and variations within the scenes.

Of course, what you can discover and experience whilst playing the game depends entirely on the choices you make. It’ll be well worth spending a little time playing the game and figuring out what actions lead to what outcomes.

This game concludes the Tara Trilogy and will be found in the members section alongside parts one and two.

Don’t miss out!

Have fun playing and I look forward to your feedback.

December 6th Update

More from dsp3000 on Tara Part 3…

Many of you have probably been wondering what has happened to the imminent release of Tara Part Three. Some of you may have been disappointed that it wasn’t released last Friday as predicted.

Well I can tell you that there’s none more disappointed than me.

Let me explain…

Last week was meant to be the big final push to complete everything. After a productive weekend, and a successful Monday, my computer suddenly crashed. It was a proper blue screen of death moment followed by several unsuccessful reboots. Fortunately, experience means that I am very disciplined with backing up work so I was lucky to lose very little of the Tara game.

I did however lose a lot of valuable production time.

The following two days were spent rebuilding a computer with a burnt out processor, recovering files, reinstalling software and files, followed by some tentative testing to eliminate causes. I had another less serious crash a couple of days later so I’m now using a completely new set up.

Today (Sunday) has been the first time I’ve had a full day back on the project and things seem to be pretty stable.

In terms of progress, the game is so achingly close to being finished. I’m up to 1237 images with just a handful left to create. I could theoretically have the game completed by the end of tomorrow, but I don’t want to promise anything until it’s been delivered safely to Chaotic.

Here are a few images from the scene with Maria and Holly (which is so hot it killed a computer), plus an image with Amy and Lola who you do get to meet in the game.

The next time you here from me should be an announcement about the final release date.

Wish me luck!

November 28th Update

More from dsp3000 on Tara Part 3…

‘Tara Part Three: The Assignment’ is now very nearly complete. Just one more week of intensive work should mean that the game will be ready for release by this time next week.

I still have the scene with Maria and her friend Holly to complete and a few other loose ends to tidy up, but that’s about it. The game has now exceeded 1100 images and I think there are probably just another hundred or so to create.

For this last update before the game is released, I thought I’d give you a few more previews from some of the scenes you’ll be able to discover.

Enjoy!

November 20th Update

More from dsp3000 on his upcoming game, Tara Part 3…

Firstly, many thanks to all those who have taken the time to vote on which character they would like to see included in Tara Part Three. With over 2500 votes cast over the past week, I’m going to call the winner as Holly.

For all those who voted for Amy or Lola, don’t be too disappointed. They will both definitely appear in my next game after the conclusion of the Tara Trilogy.

Speaking of which, Tara Part Three is creeping ever closer to completion. The image count has just ticked over 1000 and there are now over 1200 html files in the game too.

Now that I have my character selection, I have to create the scenes in which Holly features. This will probably take another week or so which, along with a week of full testing, leaves me slightly behind my intended release date. I now anticipate that the game will be ready for the very end of November or the beginning of December.

This weeks preview images include a bit of nudity and some more hints towards some of the locations and potential scene outcomes.

Lastly, I’m going to finish with a quick word from me (Chaotic). The next free game will be Jennifer. It’s a little later than I would normally release a game for free, but that’s mainly because I like to pace out the releases a little more. Whether I release it before or after Tara Part 3, it’s still be pretty close to the release date.

I think I’ve therefore decided to release it a little after (so it doesn’t distract too much from dsp3000’s work). Expect Jennifer to be released for free one or two weeks before Christmas.

November 13th Update

This week, more from dsp3000 on his upcoming game, Tara Part 3…

Keen blog followers may have already picked up on a message I posted a while ago about working on another game as well as Tara Part Three. While the Tara game is nearly complete, the other game is still very much a work in progress. I have however developed about six new characters and this week I wanted to introduce three of them.

The reason for this is that I want you to choose which one of them will appear in Tara Part Three as a Maria’s friend. The girls are Amy, Holly and Lola and whoever is chosen will have a substantial role to play in the final part of the Tara Trilogy.

I wanted to include one of these girls to Tara Part Three as a narrative link through to my next game, which should appear at some point in 2016.

So this week the choice is yours… Will it be Amy, Holly or Lola?

November 6th Update

This week, more from dsp3000 on his next game, Tara Part 3.

Progress has been pretty good this week with just two significant scenes and a few linking scenes still to complete. The image count now approaching 850 so I expect the final amount to be over 1000.

So far I’ve completed the main body of the game along with two of the main endings. There will be about six distinct endings to this game but, as with part two, there will be plenty of options to choose from when playing through the sex scenes. So each ending has different outcomes.

It should also be noted that the game doesn’t necessarily end with sex scenes. Make the right choices and you can have your way with more than just one of the girls during the course of one game.

I’ve included four images again this week to hopefully show the improvements in image qualities particularly in terms of the girls faces.

Next time I want to introduce some new characters. In the meantime keep up the great feedback in the blog. I am trying to incorporate suggestions where possible and practical.

Thank you

October 30th Update

This week, some first details from dsp3000 on his upcoming game, Tara Part 3…

Tara Part 3: The Assignment

The final installment of the Tara Trilogy picks up in the hotel the morning after where part two finished.

Faced with the late cancellation of professional models you have to help Maddison to complete the photography assignment. Fortunately, after last nights exploits, you are already well aquainted with Tara, Natalia and Maria.

What happens during the day depends on the choices you make and the locations you visit.

This game is currently about 70% complete with just under 700 images so far. I’m still on schedule for a release date some time mid to late November. While still only my third game, I’m now really getting to grips with the software I’m using. So far I’m really happy with the big advances I’ve made in terms of higher render quality, a more varied storyline, and better appearance of all the girls in this game. The images are also 30% bigger and I’ve worked really hard on making the animated sequences even better than ever.

These first four images should give you all a brief idea of what to expect.

More updates next week.

September 29th Update – More experiments with Unity3D

Following Mirandas release, I’ve returned to my experiments with Unity3D.

For those who missed my posts earlier in the year, I’ve been doing a series of tests with Unity in the hopes of one day making a ‘3-D’ dating game. Progress has gone well. I’ve almost finished building all of the levels, with the next stage being working out the best way to do dialog.

Want to help and get a little preview of what’s to come? Well, that’s the main reason I’m posting today.

Here’s a link to a demo level (windows) : LINK

EDIT : Here’s a link to what should be the mac version. Hopefully. It is completely untested by me as I don’t have a mac, but I’d love to hear if it works for anyone : LINK

There’s no gameplay, it’s just an empty level to explore, but I’m interested in getting some reactions to how it looks. Specifically, does it run OK on your computer? If it doesn’t, try running it at a lower graphics setting (change ‘fantastic’ to ‘simple’ at launch), and changing the resolution to something lower. Is it OK now?

In the bottom left of the screen you should be able to see the framerate. Ideally, it should be hitting at least 30 on average.

If you really want to help, please post up what framerate you’re getting with the basic specifications of your computer (RAM, processor and graphics card if any).

Have fun and please leave feedback if you can.
