March 22nd Update

Today, MrStomper returns with some details on his upcoming game…

Hello again. It is I, MrStomper, and I have some wonderful news to share with you today. My next project is almost done! Only the bughunt and polish remain. So I can finally reveal to you that…

I cannot reveal much. You see, I have decided to do something a bit different. Something not exactly straightforward, something with an important element of “unfamiliarity”. And when you are thrown in a place you know nothing about and must learn about it’s environment and inhabitants, saying anything about the environment or the inhabitants will spoil it. So instead of telling you much about those, so you can enjoy the unraveling properly, I will tell you about the inspiration behind it. And here we go:

You may not be familiar with the original Star Trek, but it had a fun element of the captain visiting different planets and teaching local woman a custom from Earth: kissing. And this premise is behind the idea for the story at hand. It is just little shifted towards the spirit of VDG as you will be showing hot alien women the human custom of hard fucking.

I guess that now many of you are now telling yourself: “That sounds stupid!” And you are right. But just bare with me and let me explain myself.

As I said earlier, I wanted this to be a little different, so I was looking for a way how to bypass the usual story build-up for a sex scene (which may even take up several games), so the entire story has not only more, but also more evenly distributed sexytime. And after a long time of thinking I finally come to the perfect solution as I said to myself: “Well, fuck it! Let’s go batshit crazy!” And there is no better time and place for this than the FUTURE! And soon after the premise for the story occurred to me and jump-started
this whole thing. Sci-fi is a lazy excuse, but it allowed this story to be exactly what I wanted it to be: crazy, full of sex and hot women and with a just a dash of mystery.

Also, I understand the nature of the game and that not everybody is here for the story. Don’t worry, it is more an underlying thing holding it altogether, so if you are not interested you don’t really have to pay attention to it.

Some preview images will not be from any situation you might encounter. It is just a showcase of the girls you are going to meet in situations not present in the story, nor being in any relation with it.
And here is the first one:

It was a lot of fun (and pain…) putting this together, but the VDG: Sci-Fi Story is now waiting just around the corner.

Next week, in this same fashion, there will be more preview pictures that will provide a better look at the female cast and I will tell you more about the gameplay mechanics.
(And hopefully a certain release date)

Until then, have a great week!

March 15th Update

Today, 2 new free games have been added to the site.

They are Darkness falls and Getting to grips with Christine, both by Tlaero and Mortze.

http://www.vdategames.com/darknessfalls.html

http://www.vdategames.com/chr.html

If anyone wants to support Tlaero and Mortze, you can do so via Patreon for as little as $1 per month by clicking here. Every little helps to keep them making games, and Patreon uses Paypal.

Also, since both game are little smaller, I’ve also just used a the site as a host for downloading the full game.

March 8th Update

Now that the new Bridgette game has been released, we’ve got time for a brief interlude and update for Molly and Marianna.

There’s not too many details I want to give, but I just wanted you all to know that I have been advancing steadily through the images.

Next week, I’ll be adding a couple of free games to the site, though ones some of you will already been aware of and played.

March 1st Update

It’s game release day, which always fills me with a mixture of relief and anxiety. This one has been a long time coming and when you look at the statistics you will realize why.

Stage three of ‘A Date with Bridgette’ has a huge 4490 new images to add to the 848 from stage one and 2287 from stage two.

So that makes 6677 so far.

I say so far because stage four will be next; but more on that in due course.

Along with creating the all new stage three, I’ve also gone back over the first two stages and processed all the images to mostly adjust brightness and contrast. For the best experience I highly recommend playing all the way through from the beginning.

Alternatively you will be able to use the ten digit codes gained and the end of stage two to carry over your achievements to stage three.
These codes will effect what can happen during stage three.

Stage three is a very large and complicated game due to the sheer variety of options available.

First up you can visit the ‘Brass Pole’ nightclub with Bridgette, meet up with several of the girls from the Goodhead Academy, drink, dance and be a little mischievious if you wish. There are plenty of little variations and extras built in to this scene alone.

After the nightclub you can take a trip to the ‘Pink Pussy’ club. Visit with Bridgette and see if she is happy to stay and watch the show. You might get her backstage or even on the stage. Depending on her mood and how much Champagne she has been drinking things can get pretty sexy when nobody is watching.

There is the possibility of meeting up with Didi and visiting with her and Bridgette too. It’s a good chance to find out more about the Academy’s secrets and the interesting dynamic which exists in Didi and Bridgette’s relationship.

Then it’s time to head back to Bridgette’s apartment. Will it be a simple walk home, or another sexy adventure? It’s all about your choices and actions.

And before anyone asks. Yes; there are several sex scenes… And not just with Bridgette.

Thanks for all your support over the past year or so, it has been very much appreciated.

I sincerely hope that you enjoy playing the game.

Bridgette Part 3 is now available to play in the members sections. As always, if you can’t see it, remember to hit refresh in your browser. – Chaotic

EDIT : Patch now added to games page to deal with the bug. Updated files added to online version.

February 22nd Update

One more post from dsp3000 on his upcoming game…

I was thinking back to a previous blog post from somebody several months ago who was suggesting that making these type of games was easy, shouldn’t really take that long or be worth paying a subscription to access. He was only speculating though from a position of ignorance so I’ll cut him some slack.

It was telling that Chaotic, Mr Stomper and I all stepped in to challenge his theory based on fair amount of combined experience. I can assure any naysayers, doubters or aspiring creators that there is more to it than rendering a few images and building a few web pages.

To illustrate my point, the ‘Date with Bridgette’ production folder currently stands at 45.8GB, with 42666 files in 561 folders. I’m working through about 30 pages of production notes relating to the 2757 HTML files in stage three of the game. There are also now just over 4000 new images to add to those in stages one and two.

I can’t be exact with the image count just yet because I do still have a few more to make.

Don’t ask how many hours all that equates to. I long since gave up counting.

I have mostly been testing over the past seven days, and it’s been going okay.

I’m almost done and there’s only one scene still left to test.So during the weekend, all that should be completed.

What remains is the creation of the aforementioned remaining images, and then the creation of the checkpoint achievement images, plus a bit of coding out for the carry over codes for stage four.

I am really happy and confident that this stage won’t disappoint all of you loyal supporters out there.

On course for a March 1st release date.

February 15th Update

One more update from dsp3000…

Just a brief update today, as there isn’t much to report unless you would like me to describe what working through 22 pages of production notes and over 3000 html files looks like. I could procrastinate and tell you how much coffee I’m consuming, but ultimately you just need to believe me when I say that it’s really the most tedious and least enjoyable part of the process.

My goal is always to release my games with zero errors, so the past few days have been all about testing and making changes to the critical files that make the game function properly.

In case anybody was wondering; making multi episode games with variables that carry over to create other options and consequences is basically a massive headfuck. Predictable really, but hopefully worth it. I’m working through the game file by file, checking all the links, testing all the checkfiles and making sure the score variables increase and decrease where they should.

As previously mentioned, during the past 10 months or so, I have been producing two episodes at once. This means there is a whole lot of material to go back and check over.

It’s not always possible to catch every single error, particularly as I work in a very fluid way, often deviating and making plot changes as I am working through creating all the images and files. But I will catch them if I can.

In terms of the release date, I don’t think that I’ll get everything completed satisfactorily for next Friday. But I am reasonably confident that Friday 1st March is still achievable.

I wish it didn’t take so long but it really just does.

Until the next update, I have included a few more preview images.

February 8th Update

This week, more from dsp3000 on his upcoming games…

The Date with Bridgette production machine rolls on again this week, despite interruptions from pets, burglars and power cuts. I am now in the final stages of making part three of a Date with Bridgette and, as promised, this time I thought I would focus on the second location that this stage has to offer.

In the grand tradition of Vdategames, no date is complete without a trip to a strip club.

In the Academy universe we have The Pink Pussy club, and maybe Bridgette will agree to visit…

Once inside there are again many story paths to discover. The images will hint at some of those variables, but as usual I don’t want to give too much away. Fans of Didi may well be delighted to know that she will take you up on that offer of a drink, if indeed you ever managed to find out how to invite her during part two. There are several more characters to interact with in and around the strip club. It really is a substantial chunk of gameplay to work your way through and, as ever there are a whole ton of different things to find.

In terms of production, the whole four part game currently stands at over 9200 images. I still have a handful of images to complete the remaining two scenes in the forthcoming part three. As I said last week, part three will consist of over 3000 of those images.

In the last few days I’ve been testing and working out the scoring system to ensure those all important happiness and lust variables actually mean and do something.

I’m tentatively going to say that I think a 22nd February release date is feasible, but 1st March is probably more likely. Please don’t take that as gospel though. The last time I decided on a firm release date my computer processor went into meltdown at a critical moment. But I shall try my best as I reckon out of everybody here, I will be the happiest to see the fruits of my labors bloom.

Until next time, wish me luck.

February 1st Update

Today’s blog update comes courtesy of dsp3000

Hello everybody. I am now very close to completing the next part of the Date with Bridgette game so it’s probably about the right time for a blog update.

I can confirm there will be two more parts to the Date with Bridgette game, making four in total.

Since my last blog update in December I have created around another 600 images, so that means over 6100 images will form the next two stages of the game. I reckon there are another 500 images which still need making to reach the very end of what I have planned for the four parts.

This blog post will focus on what I am planning to release next. I have a handful of images left to create, a few to remake, and plenty of checking and testing to do. I anticipate that this part of the game will be around 3100 images. Hopefully it will be all ready to go in the next two to three weeks.

So here are a few details.

Part three of the evening introduces another two locations to visit during your evening with Bridgette.
Firstly, you can continue your evening with a visit to a nightclub where you meet several familiar and a few other new characters.
You can dance, drink and talk to Bridgette and with the other girls you see there.
There are lots of different options to explore, and your interactions with Bridgette and the other characters will determine what can happen.
Ultimately you can choose to keep Bridgette on side, and/or explore what else is on offer.

Next week I’ll reveal a little more about the next location you can visit and maybe firm up a release date.

January 25th Update

A few things to get through today.

First of all, I know I haven’t stated yet whether or not Molly and Marianna will be free or members only, so – Molly and Marianna will be members only initially.

For most member only games, the plan is to make them free after a couple of years, but this one will be made free after a much shorter wait. I’m thinking something like 6 months. It’ll certainly be later this year. I’ve been wanting to try this as an experiment for a while now, and this seems like a good opportunity.

Next, here’s the new title card for the game.

Last week, I spoke about having trouble getting a island beach to work. I’ve switched to a much more manageable model set (the old one was over a million polygons), and I’m very happy with the result.

Lastly, in Leanna I introduced the option of specifying what your occupation is. I want to do something similar with this game, so let’s see what kind of options people would like.

Poll time! Pick as many options as you want. Feel free to suggest some as well.

What occupations would you like as an option in this game?

January 18th Update

Slightly different preview this week. I thought it would be fun to showcase all of Molly and Marianna’s planned costume changed for the game.

First up, Marianna.

I’ll be doing one for Molly on another Friday.

This week has mainly been about setting up scenes for the game. Most are done, but I’m still having trouble with one important location.

At one point, the main trio have to hide out in Marianna’s safe house. I thought it would be cool to have it be an island off the grid.

It looks good, but working with it’s really slow as there’s so many polygons. I’ll have to see if I can work out a good solution (or compromise).
